JAM Mozambique achieves ISO 22000 Certification at Beira Food Factory

The JAM Beira Food Factory in Mozambique recently received ISO 22000 Certification, in the scope of Manufacturing and Distribution of Corn Soy Blends.
This means international recognition of operational excellence and food safety methods, in terms of producing and distributing food of exceptional quality.

The requirements for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) is prescribed by ISO 22000 and is applicable to all organizations involved in the food chain, whose main objective is to ensure food safety. The standard outlines a framework which harmonizes all parts of the food supply chain, from producer to consumer, and helps you reduce food hazards, control the risks and prevent contamination.

With consultant support, JAM’s team in Mozambique has been implementing the system to improve processes and were responsible for the creation of manuals, procedures, records and other necessary requirements to meet the system.

Internal and external audits were carried out by the certification body, Intertek.

Becoming certified to ISO 22000 allows the organization to show that they have a FSMS in place and provides the following benefits:
